In-Roof Solar Panels FAQs

In-roof solar PV panels, also known as integrated solar panels, are designed to fit into the roofing structure, replacing some of the existing roof tiles or slates. This installation method provides a seamless look by integrating the panels flush with the roofing material, making them less visible than traditional on-roof systems.

The main difference between in-roof and on-roof solar panels is the installation method. In-roof panels are integrated into the roof. On-roof panels are mounted on top of the existing roof, can be more visible and may not blend as well with the roofline. In-roof installations can also be more durable and protected from the elements as they replace part of the roof itself. Get in touch for a quote

In-roof solar panels are usually more expensive to install than on-roof systems because of the complexity of integrating them with the roofing material. But the extra cost may be worth it for the look and potential increase in property value. Plus in-roof systems can potentially give better thermal performance and more energy savings in the long run.
